ScreenBeam receiver's Wi-Fi connection shows "Rejected"
This article is applicable to ScreenBeam 1xxx-Series products.
If the ScreenBeam receiver displays a Wi-Fi status of “Rejected,” several factors may be at play:- The Wi-Fi credentials may be incorrect or the associated certificate has expired. To resolve, confirm and update your Wi-Fi credentials or certificate, then restart the ScreenBeam receiver.
- The network controller may be configured to reject clients with low signal strength or limited bandwidth. Different Wi-Fi access point vendors may use varying terminology for this functionality (for example, “Minimum Data Rate Control” is enabled by default on Ubiquiti systems, while Cisco and Aruba may use other names).
To address this, try placing the ScreenBeam receiver in a more open area, adjusting the broadcast strength for specific access points, or, where possible, connecting the device via Ethernet.
Note that low network throughput can impact functionality dependent on the Wi-Fi connection, such as wireless audiovisual streaming (AirPlay, Miracast over LAN, Chromecast), as well as firmware updates.
