No audio output over Miracast on Windows 11 devices after installing KB5066835

This article applies to ScreenBeam 1xxx-Series, 960 and 750 products.

We are aware that the recent KB5066835 update may prevent Miracast from outputting audio through the TV, particularly if your system has Dolby Access software and drivers installed.

Microsoft has acknowledged this issue on their support forum

To resolve this, you have a few options:

Option 1 – Uninstall the KB5066835 update

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates.
  3. Locate KB5066835 in the list and click Uninstall.   
  4. Reconnect to ScreenBeam

Option 2 – Enable Mono Audio in Windows settings

  1. Go to Settings > Sound
  2. Locate Mono audio (default is Off) and switch it On
  3. Reconnect to ScreenBeam

Option 3 – Roll back the DolbyAPO SWC Device driver

  1. Open Windows Device Manager
  2. Expand Audio inputs and outputs
  3. Open DolbyAPO SWC Device
  4. Select Driver tab
  5. Select Roll Back Driver (if exists)

Select the option that best fits your environment to restore audio over Miracast.
